our time in Macon, GA

Patrick thought it would be a good idea to bring us with him while he attended some work training, so we found this cute little 1 bedroom apartment in downtown Macon above Travis Jean, an antique furniture store and art gallery, and spent two weeks there. The longer we were in Macon, the more I loved it's hidden charm and Southern hospitality. Living in sunny South Florida, I had forgotten how nice people can be, how a shared smile with a stranger on the street can make you remember the kindness of what could be. (Southerners rock)

While we were there, the kids and I did a lot of walking around downtown. We visited Taste and See Coffee almost every day, and they had the BEST pumpkin spice latte I've ever had, made with real pumpkin and unsweetened organic almond milk.

They had a swing set in a park we visited quite often, where Harlee would run around and sit on the big girl swing.

The old brick buildings were refreshing, and it was such a needed break from the pastel stucco of South Florida.

I managed to sneak out without the babies or hubby to Peaches Antique Mall and got some awesome brassware for Urban Vintage. I wanted to hoard all these Jadeite coffee cups so hard.

There was a great little tap room by our apartment that allowed children - so we gave Harlee the larger than life checkers to play with while Patrick and I drank beer. #parentingwin

We also visited the Indian Mounds and did some walking around, and naturally, handstands on grass, because I can't be on that much grass and not do a handstand.

Harlee had to join in.

I got RTG baby carry that day.

Overall, I am SO glad to be home, but enjoyed our little getaway <3
