Family Friendly Floor Cleaner

My main motivation for delving into the world of essential oils is to reduce my family's exposure to toxins. I don't know about you, but when my daughter drops half her banana on the floor and then picks it up again and continues to eat it, I want to make sure she's not eating cancer-causing crap. When listening to webinars such as this one, it becomes abundantly clear that there are many horrible chemicals in our daily cleaning products, even those labelled as "green" - so I'm setting out to replace all our cleaners with cleaners that are actually beneficial to us! 

My husband and I are home with our latest addition (I'm lucky enough he gets to take some time off to help with our transition to a family of four!), and he actually requested a batch of essential oil floor cleaner, came home with one of those microfiber mops, and proceeded to mop our entire house (yep, I'm definitely blessed with a good one). 

I kind of made up the recipe, but our floors came out nice and clean! Plus, I don't have to worry about anyone soaking up nasty chemicals through their feet, or ingesting or inhaling anything harmful. 

My "recipe" went something like this: 

1 Pelligrino Bottle

1 Spray Nozzle
Fill half the bottle with white vinegar (also bought at Costco)
12 drops protective blend essential oil

12 drops orange essential oil (or lemon would be amazing as well) 

Top bottle with water & shake

After a quick vacuum or dry mop, spray the floor with your DIY Family Friendly Floor Cleaner, and use the microfiber mop after spraying. 

The protective blend helps protect our family from any lingering germs and boosts our immunity, and the orange not only smells amazing (I really don't smell the "vinegar" smell after using this), it is a great cleanser as well.
