Isn't this a cute lamp situation going on here?

So the other day, I walked into my parents' garage, and I saw this:
I texted my mom with the above picture, and was all, "Hey mom, do you mind if I spraypaint your lamp?" And she was all, "of course you can paint my unwanted lamp that I've been meaning to bring to Goodwill for 6 years that is somehow miraculously sitting precariously on the side of a filing cabinet next to some fishing poles."
See? Exactly what she said in the text, allegedly after a conversation about zucchini.
So, I headed over to Home Depot, because they have a better spraypaint selection than the Ace Hardware that's way closer to our house, and bought some green Rustoleum paint and white primer. I taped off the lamp's cord with some painters tape, put a box down on the grass, and after a good cleaning, sprayed the primer.
A few minutes later, I added a couple coats of the green paint....
In the end, I have a cute lamp that needs a new lampshade! The $3 one from Goodwill is way too small. On a sidenote, I really like my mom's end table - I'm glad it got a cute lamp to adorn it.
This one from Etsy would be cute, but a little short still:
I'm even kind of liking a floral lampshade:
However, my cheap ass does not want to spend 60 something dollars on a lampshade for a free lamp (plus the cost of two cans of spray paint). I'll wait to see if any more cheap thrift store options come up.
