Essential Oils for Bringing Baby Home

Oh hey, new mama.

I’m just rolling in here with my twice annual blog post… but I thought this would be helpful as I’ve already shared this with several other soon-to-be or new mamas out there!

When I became pregnant with my first daughter, I knew in my heart that something had to change. I knew it was time to look at what ingredients I was allowing in and around my body, and evaluated everything in my home from makeup, to glass cleaner, to the foods and supplements I was consuming.

However, it wasn’t until just before my son was born (he’s only 14 months than my daughter), that I discovered the powerful impact that doTERRA essential oils can have on the ease of our lives. Thanks to the blessing of attending my first Intro to Essential Oils class, I’ve learned to (slowly) incorporate essential oils and non-toxic solutions in all areas of our home and lives. I’ve since gone on to teach hundreds of my own Intro to Oils classes (you can find a recording of one of my classes here).

Drawing on that experience and the essential oils I’ve using on my children for the past 7 years, I’ve created a recommended cart for new mamas and soon to be mamas!

Here is a description of how these oils work + why I chose each of these oils for this new baby collection:

👉🏼 Serenity and Breathe - diffuse this combo at night in the bedroom, 1-2 drops each. Breathe is incredible for supporting the airways, and Serenity encourages peaceful sleep. I discovered this combo when my daughter was teething and having trouble keeping open airways, and it was very helpful for the both of us!

👉🏼 Stronger - think of Stronger Protective Blend as the kids’ On Guard. This is great to roll on the bottoms of feet before leaving the house, before daycare, or before anyone comes over to support the immune system. With a combination of Cedarwood, Litsea, Frankincense, and Rose in a base of Fractionated Coconut Oil, this is also great for the skin, and comforting to occasional skin irritations.

👉🏼 Tamer - keep this kids’ digestive blend near the diaper changing station and roll 1-2x around her belly button at each diaper change to help with supporting digestion, or as needed.

👉🏼  Calmer - help for sleep at night! Roll down baby’s spine and bottoms of feet. I use the kids blends, too - I love the smell of them!

👉🏼 On Guard hand sanitizer bc this stuff is awesome and there's never enough of it lately!

👉🏼 Baby diaper cream - I mean, don’t you want the best oils in your diaper cream?!! I do. CPTG essential oils of Lavender, Carrot Seed, and Tea Tree (Melalueca) help balance and soothe the skin.

👉🏼 Tea Tree and Lavender touch - these you can use topically for any skin irritations that come up, or during bug season in Florida!
