Living room love.

In our last home, we started in the master bedroom and bathroom. In our new home, I really wanted to have a living room that we can hang out in, spend time with family in, watch TV in... our last house had a reallllly uncomfortable couch, so it was important to Patrick that our new couch is comfortable, I wanted leather due to the dogs (way easier to clean, in my opinion, than microfiber), and I also wanted something close to the inspiration below.

Our living room is the only place in our home that feels "done." Not like a room is ever really done, but it certainly feels the most cozy.

I mean, who doesn't want to pet that couch? It's super soft and the color is "cognac." Sounds so fancy. The day I found it on Craigslist, it was like the heavens parted and the angels were singing. Seriously, folks, light was shining down on the couch from the skies. It made it even better when I looked up the company who makes the couch and realized that the couch is the real deal. Let me tell you, we got a s.c.o.r.e. on that couch.

The table was a find at our local Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store, after waiting for it to go on sale, of course.

Just when I thought I had hit pause with the living room... I changed it. Here it is with the fun geometric rug. I think I'll stick with the geometric rug; it has some nice blue in it that goes with our campaign dresser/TV stand, that I swear I'll take a picture of one of these days.

And then I just found this little tutorial on painting coasters - definitely on my to-get-done-one-of-these-days lists. And art, the art will have to be added to. The sailor with the pipe was painted by my grandmother, so I love having it live in my living room.

My heart and prayers go out to Oklahoma today!
