Pizza and Beer.

I have a whole month of stuff I want to write about. Most importantly murdering our awful, ugly, out of place wall. I wish I could have been there for the sledge hammer party... kind of. We are very blessed to have my brother be a contractor in the town in which my husband and I just so happened to both find careers, so mostly my brother had the sledge hammer party. Patrick and I had the "take-the-concrete-chucks-to-the-dump" party. We managed to save a couple hundred dollars on that one, though, since we (unknowingly) timed the dump party on Bay County's amnesty day. Despite the hour wait in line at the landfill, the awful wind blowing nasty landfill dirt all over us, and the backaches, it was a more satisfying experience knowing it was free!

Our high-fiving celebratory moment of satisfaction of another box checked and a cleaner yard did not last long, because little did we know that so much work would be required to put the den back in order after the wall destruction! You would think we would realize that by now. Projects always cost more money and take more time than an original plan, hence the necessity for pizza and beer. Sweaty and dirty until 11pm when you have to be at work in the morning isn't fun. Neither is making dinner when you're covered in paint and sawdust.

I am looking forward to some down time and being able to enjoy (in other words, buy fun accessories and organize) our new spaces!
